Guilin

Meemaw and PopPop joined us on a trip to Guilin and Yangshuo in the Guanxi province of Southern China this weekend.  Wow!

We boarded a plane early on Friday and arrived at the Guilin Airport about 3 hour later.

Despite the vast choices - snake, crab, duck-billed fish, rat - we settled on the more tame of the menu choices - Beer Fish.  Joanne picked out the fish.

We visited caves inside the one of the many karst peaks in the area.

...and the boys played Ninja.

We were directed to a silk show which was rather interesting seeing how the silk goes from the worm all the way to the blanket, but the show also culminated with a wicked sales pitch and well-hidden exit.

We crashed, well watched from our hotel room, a huge Chinese wedding. We counted over 650 seats.

Since we were staying at the LiJiang Waterfall hotel, we decided to step outside and view "The largest man-made waterfall in the..."  Anyway, it did flow right down the side of our hotel.
